PRIVACY POLICY Only One Tower: Idle Defense (the "App") is a free-to-play game for Android and iOS, supported by ads and optional in-app purchases, developed by Giacomo Barbieri (Paranoid Squirrels), Italy. This page applies to both versions and explains what information is processed when you use the App, by whom, and what choices you have. I do not run any server for the App, and the App does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location. Apart from the usage statistics described under Analytics, which I receive through Google Analytics, and any message you choose to send me, I do not receive any information about you. The rest of the information described below is processed directly by the third-party services built into the App, under their own privacy policies. Information Processed by the App Game progress. Your progress and settings are stored on your device. If you are signed in to Google Play Games (Android) or iCloud (iOS), a copy of your progress is also saved there automatically. Achievements are recorded by Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS). I have no access to these accounts. Purchases. In-app purchases are handled entirely by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). I never receive your payment details: the App only receives the confirmation it needs to deliver what you bought. Advertising. The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver, limit, measure and (if you allow it) personalize ads, and to prevent fraud, AdMob and the ad networks it works with may collect your device's advertising identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location can be derived), information about your device and the App (including crash and performance diagnostics), and information about the ads you see and tap. On iOS, the advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking when the App asks you through the system prompt. The consent and tracking messages are shown by Google User Messaging Platform, which stores your choices on your device. Analytics (Android only). The Android version uses Google Analytics for Firebase, which automatically collects usage events (such as app opens, session duration, in-app purchases and ad impressions), the source of the install, device information, an app instance identifier, an approximate location and your advertising identifier (in the regions listed under Your Choices, only if you consent). I use this information, in aggregated form, to understand how the game is used and to measure the results of my advertising campaigns on Google Ads. Time check. To verify the device clock, which the game's timers and offline progress depend on, the App queries public time servers (Cloudflare, Alibaba Cloud, Google and pool.ntp.org). These requests contain no information about you, but like any internet connection they reveal your IP address to the server. Your Choices If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the App asks for your consent with Google's consent form before your data is used for personalized ads or analytics. To change or withdraw your consent later, clear the App's data or reinstall it (save to the cloud first to keep your progress): the consent form is shown again at the next launch. On iOS, the App asks for permission to track you the first time it runs. You can change your answer at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking (on iOS 14.4 and earlier: Settings > Privacy > Advertising > Limit Ad Tracking). If you refuse, you still see ads, but they are not based on your advertising identifier. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID from your device settings (usually Settings > Privacy > Ads, or Settings > Google > Ads). Deleting it stops ads from being personalized. Third-Party Services The following services process data under their own privacy policies, which bind them to protect it at least as well as described here. They may process your data on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in their policies. Cloud saves and achievements remain in your Google Play Games or Apple account until you delete them from those services. Analytics data associated with your app instance is kept in Google Analytics for the retention period I have set there (at most 14 months) and then deleted automatically; aggregated statistics that cannot identify you are kept without time limit. Data collected by Google and Apple through their services is otherwise kept and deleted according to their policies linked above. Security Apart from the analytics described above, the App does not send any of your data to me. The services listed above protect the data they process with industry-standard measures, but no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure. Links to Other Sites The App contains links to external websites, such as the game's Reddit community. These sites are not operated by me and have their own privacy policies, which I encourage you to review. Children's Privacy The App is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, contact me and I will help you have it removed. Changes to This Privacy Policy I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are published on this page, and the effective date below is updated accordingly.
